In a world that is each time more and more
globalized, and as a citizen of the European Union, I know that it is
essential to speak, write and understand the English language. The second most
popular language in the world is undoubtedly English, about 35% of the world's
mail, faxes, and cables are in English, approximately 40% of the world's radio
programs are in English, and English is the dominant language on the Internet.
In our earlier classes we learned a little
about England’s History and we talked about some historical monuments, we also
talked about the English words we use daily, and some differences between the
English and American cultures. We learned the numbers -ordinals and cardinals -
and how to use them, social expressions and how to pronounce the alphabet. We
also talked about the name of the countries and nationalities. And many other things.
English language is also important in my
personal context, I use English every time I travel, contact people in social
networks, or when tourists ask me for some information.
For any kind of job these days, English
language is extremely important but in this area (logistics technician) it is
even more important because we need it to make international transactions,
operate with informatics systems and work with universal machinery.
I think
it was very important for me to start again with the initiation of English,
because it reminded me of a lot of things that I had forgotten along the years.
I do know that I have a
reasonable understanding of both writing and speaking but I have a lot of new
things to learn, I think I have reached
all objectives proposed by the teacher in this phase.
